These terms cover your use of Contrax, construction management software owned and operated by Ramsauer Renovations in Ontario, Canada. By creating an account you agree to them.
You need an account to use Contrax. Keep your password to yourself, give us accurate details, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account. You're responsible for what happens under your login and for anyone you invite into your workspace.
You must be at least 18 and using Contrax for a business.
New accounts get 7 days free. No card is required to start. If you don't subscribe by the end of it, the account simply stops — we don't charge you automatically for something you didn't choose.
Contrax is $150 CAD per month for your whole company, with no per-user charge. Fees are billed monthly in advance and don't include applicable taxes.
You can cancel any time and you'll keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund partial months. If a payment fails we'll tell you and give you a reasonable chance to fix it before suspending the account.
If we change the price we'll give you at least 30 days' notice, and the new price only applies from your next billing period.
Everything you put into Contrax — clients, jobs, estimates, invoices, photos, financial records — belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of it.
You give us permission to store and process it only so far as we need to in order to run the service for you. You can export your data at any time, and you can ask us to delete it. How we handle it is set out in our Privacy Policy.
The software, its design and the Contrax name are ours. You get the right to use the service while your subscription is active — you don't get a copy of the software, and you may not resell it, copy it, or take it apart to rebuild it.
Don't use Contrax to break the law, to store or send anything illegal, to send spam, to attack or overload the service, or to get at another customer's data. We can suspend an account that does, and we'll explain why.
This one matters, so read it properly.
Contrax uses AI to read walkthrough videos and photos, draft scopes of work, and produce estimates. Everything it produces is a starting point that you must check before you rely on it. AI misreads things. It can miss work, misjudge a measurement, or price something wrong.
You are responsible for reviewing every estimate, quote and document before you send it to a client or sign a contract based on it. We are not liable for a quote you sent without checking, or for work priced from an estimate you didn't verify.
The pricing shown in the public demo on our website is illustrative only and is not a quote from anyone.
If you connect a bank account, that connection is provided by Plaid and is read-only. Contrax cannot move money. You are responsible for reviewing transactions and for the accuracy of your books. Contrax is not an accountant and does not give tax advice — have a professional review your records before filing anything.
We work to keep Contrax available and we back up your data, but we don't promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance happens, and providers we depend on occasionally go down. We'll give notice of planned work where we can.
Contrax is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profits, lost business, or lost data — and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose.
Nothing here removes rights you have under Ontario or Canadian consumer protection law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
You can close your account whenever you like. We can end or suspend an account that breaks these terms, or that goes unpaid, after telling you. If we ever discontinue Contrax entirely we'll give you at least 60 days' notice and time to export everything.
After closure we delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Export anything you want to keep before you close the account.
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we'll give you notice, and continuing to use Contrax after it takes effect means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Ontario.

Note: these terms describe how Contrax actually operates and are written to be readable rather than exhaustive. They are not legal advice and should be reviewed by a lawyer before you rely on them commercially — especially the liability and AI sections, and before you take on customers outside Canada.
